i enclose a note just received from my Portuguese

accountant, a man who has been with me for a good many years. I do not know to what extent his fears as to danger to life in Macao may be justified, but perhaps H.E. would like to ase the letter as giving the view of an intelligent Portu- guese on the present situation.

If this outbreak has really taken place no doubt

H.E. has already received news of it.
